    We can separate the problem into 2 variables:

    the weight of the jar (Wj)
    the weight of the honey (Wh)

    we know that together, they weigh 750g, so we can write the equation:

    Wj+Wh=750g

    We also know that the same jar two-thirds full weighs 550g, obviously the only variable that would change is Wh.

    Wj+(2/3)Wh=550g

    Now we can do an algebraic system of equations.

    Wj+Wh=750g
    Wj+(2/3)Wh=550g
    -_____________________
    (1/3)Wh=200g---->Wh=600g

    Now that we know the weight of the honey, we can solve for the weight of the empty jar in grams

    Wj+Wh=750g
    Wh=600g
    Wj+600g=750g
    Wj=150g

    Therefore, the weight of the empty jar is 150g
